God Friended Me : Season 2 - Part 2.

Note: This post is part of a series -- before reading on, do read the previous post.

  • Episode 15:

Sometimes it’s the simple things that are the most profound reminders of what’s important. Like love -- how it can heal the past or give us hope for the future. Or family -- knowing no matter what happens, we don’t have to fight alone. Because faith isn’t just about religion. It’s about realizing that we’re all in this together. It’s easy to forget about how connected we all are. It’s easy to feel scared, or lost, or angry. But that’s not the same thing as losing faith. And sometimes it takes meeting someone new to remind us of that -- that it’s never too late to find the faith that we’ve lost. Faith will always be there if you ever need it.

  • Episode 18:

There are decisions that are thrust upon us, and decisions we choose to make. They’re not always easy, but the good thing is they can always be changed.

When we can, we try to tip the scales to go our way. But thankfully, it’s the people in our life who are there to pick us up, to make sure that we’re never alone.

  • Episode 19:

Life’s too short not to be honest with the people you love.

  • Episode 21:

Growing up in the Church, I heard a lot about miracles, but tonight I actually saw one. Now, I’m not talking about a burning bush or parting the Red Sea. I’m talking about the miracles we create ourselves -- the miracles we’re able to give to one another, which change lives in a profound way, and give us the closure we’ve always been looking for.

In today’s world, we see technology as a modern-day miracle. But only when we use it to help others can it become one, and when it reconnects us with people we needed to find to become the person we needed to be.

But no matter how hard it is, when we choose to help or listen or forgive one another, those simple acts of kindness can change someone’s life in a way that can only be described as ‘a miracle’.

  • Episode 22:

Sometimes the things we hope for in life, don’t always turn out the way we expect. But that doesn’t mean we give up, it doesn’t mean we stop fighting. Because you never know where that road may lead -- to the long-awaited celebration that finally arrives, to the ending of one chapter that brings us to the next.

The journey of helping my friend suggestions changed so many lives. It taught me to have hope and faith in humanity, to believe in others. But more importantly, it changed me, and it made me realize that it doesn’t matter what we believe, or where we come from, we are all in this together, and we can all be there for one another -- because when we are, amazing things can happen.

I hope that the wonderful and inspiring thoughts from this show, which I have written about in this four-post series, have inspired and motivated you to go out into the world and help others, sans any expectations or rewards.

Sadly, the creators have cancelled the show after Season 2. However, the 2 seasons are definitely worthy of being re-watched a hundred times. Kudos to the creators, directors and actors, who have definitely made the world a better place.

P.S. Feel free to re-read the sentences again and again, till you grasp their meaning -- that's the way I read self-help books, and it's a habit that can truly change your life. Happy reading!

Disclaimer: None of the sentences in the main body of this post were written by me. All credits to the writers and the creators of 'God Friended Me'. Do watch the show -- it will not disappoint!

Thank you for reading! Stay blessed!
