Faith.

Believing in something greater than ourselves can give us the motivation we desperately need to live life to the fullest, on days when we are weary and disheartened.


The following is my favourite Bible verse :



‘Mountains’ signify the difficulties we face in life. If we have faith, we can overcome all our struggles.

 

As per the Cambridge dictionary :


Faith is ‘to have great trust or confidence in someone or something’.


Hope is ‘to want something to happen or to be true, and usually have a good reason to think that it might’.

Thus, faith and hope go hand-in-hand.

 

I wanted to write a blog post on faith, but I didn’t know exactly what to write.


I went to Church on Sunday and this was the reading at Mass :



It is like God spoke to me. I am not someone who studies the Scripture every day, but I’m glad I came across this verse.

 

In the book ‘The Power of Your Subconscious Mind’, Dr. Joseph Murphy explains certain Bible verses in a very unique way. He describes in great detail how we can use our subconscious mind to improve our lives.


He stresses upon one Bible verse in particular :



We all want happiness, abundance and success, but we rarely believe with all our heart that we will receive any of it.


We ask, but at the same time we think that receiving what we ask for is nearly impossible.


That is where faith comes in, knowing truly that we will get what we ask for.


 

Elizabeth Gilbert had given a Ted Talk on success and failure, and I always cry when I listen to it. It speaks to me personally, as I have struggled to cope with failure many a time.


She said this in her speech, which I absolutely love :

 

Let us learn to truly believe in God, our family, our work, or anything we love more than ourselves.


Let us not compare or criticize, but instead strive hard to be the best versions of ourselves.
