“This Too Shall Pass.”

I dread those days when the pain is too much to bear,

When my worries and troubles seem utterly unfair.

I look up to heaven and ask God, “Why?”,

Bow my head and have a good cry.

The happy days, those are the best,

When every moment seems wonderful and blessed.

But I ask myself, “When will the bubble burst?”,

Knowing all too well that the day will soon be cursed.

Self-sabotage, that’s always been a friend,

One who pushes you off a cliff, just when your suffering is about to end.

With the help of a loved one, I’m slowly learning to push it away,

I’m learning to embrace life in all its beauty, focusing less on the gray.

I lift myself back up and smile through the tears,

Pushing myself forward, brushing away my fears.

“This too shall pass”, I repeat to myself at the end of each day,

Reminding myself to live in the moment and not go astray.

You never know how strong you are until strong is all you have to be,

That’s when the beauty in life’s struggles you finally start to see.

For life can be beautiful and cruel all at once,

Two steps backward and one forward, that’s just part of the dance.

Thank you for reading! Stay blessed!
