Playlist - Calming Jazz Instrumental.

I've always said that music heals, because it really does. After feeling extremely anxious yesterday, listening to my favourite jazz instrumental songs calmed me down.

Also, the songs from La La Land hold a dear place in my heart, and listening to them instantly brought a smile to my face. (Read 'Playlist : La La Land.')

Here's a list of my favourite calming jazz instrumental numbers :

1. 'A Fine Romance' by Oscar Peterson. 2. 'As Time Goes By' by the Dexter Gordon Quartet. 3. 'Besame Mucho' by the Dave Brubeck Quartet. 4. 'Canadian Sunset' by Wes Montgomery. 5. 'Days of Wine and Roses' by Wes Montgomery.

6. 'Don't Explain' by the Dexter Gordon Quartet. 7. 'Fujiyama' by the Dave Brubeck Quartet. 8. 'I Fall In Love Too Easily' by Miles Davis. 9. 'I Was Doing Alright' by Stan Getz & the Oscar Peterson Trio. 10. 'In A Sentimental Mood' by Duke Ellington & John Coltrane. 11. 'Monk's Mood' by Thelonious Monk. 12. 'Mood Indigo' by the Duke Ellington Orchestra. 13. 'My Funny Valentine' by Miles Davis. 14. 'Naima' by John Coltrane. 15. 'Nuit Sur Flandres' by Manu Cornet. 16. I've created a playlist of the songs on Amazon Music. You can check it out, here.

A tip my late dad shared with me when I attended jazz and western classical music concerts with him : Close your eyes and listen to the music, that way you'll appreciate and enjoy the music much more.

What I do : Whenever I listen to instrumental songs, I sit in a quiet place, play them on low volume, close my eyes, imagine that I'm at a live gig, and I then let the music do the magic.

Listening to instrumental music this way, with undivided attention, is a form of meditation, and it will help calm you down a great deal.

Another tip : Always listen to instrumental music with headphones or earphones - it makes a huge difference!

Happy listening!

Thank you for reading! Stay blessed!
