If Only.

On the side of the road, sat an old homeless man,

Resting his head against a rusty, abandoned van;

A few small coins is all he had earned,

All day long in the sun he burned;

He lay there miserably, looking around,

So quiet was he, in a place full of sound;

"If only", he thought, "If only I had a life which was good,

If only I had a plate full of food";

Yet, here we are, living a life of luxury, a life of bliss,

And all we think about is in our lives what we miss!

From now on, be thankful for all that you got,

Which, compared to that homeless man, is really a lot!

P.S. A poem I had written many years ago.

Thank you for reading! Stay blessed!
